Dr Saldarriaga completed her undergraduate studies in Medicine at the Jesus Maria School in Medellin in 1994 and went on to continue her studies at the Medical School at the University of Antioquia in 2002. She then went on to complete her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Antioquia in 2008. Cardiology and heart failure specialist , head of the cardiology program -Pontificia Bolivariana University - CardioVID Clinic in Medellin- Colombia. Elected president of the Colombia Society of cardiology- Member of the Lancet commission for cardiovascular disease in women- principal investigator and Steering committe member for heart failure research trials.
